What is your favorite part of the writing process?
The super-joy I feel when a story comes together! You know that seamless integration of all the ideas merging into one cohesive thing we call "story." It's like — blast-off!
What does your writing workspace look like?
It's an upstairs attic in a rundown bungalow (don't judge me). The point is to have a designated writing area. This helps you to develop your creative "muscle memory" that signals your brain when it's time to write.
What’s the most difficult part of screenwriting?
Trying to explain how a script works. Screenwriting is a uniquely asymmetrical form of writing. It's counterintuitive to everyone, especially other writers.
What is your favorite non-writing hobby?
Music. I play and perform original songs. I have three guitars. Two pianos. One cat (she's a good listener).
What is your favorite piece of writing advice?
Write all the time. You'll be glad you did!
What writing projects are you currently working on?
A half-hour comedy pilot set right here in Detroit entitled TALK RADIO!
